While I was eating my lunch at school today, I watched this squirrel came over to my table very calmly and hopped up on my table. It then comes over and sits less than a foot away from my face, right on the spot where I'm eating. It was after my PB&J sando. I stood up just in case the squirrel felt like jumping on me or biting me for some reason. Then it turns around when it notices it isn't going to get any food, and sees my apple. He sniffs the apple for a second, then picks it up and takes off with the whole thing. After he's snacked on my apple for a second, he notices some girls sitting at the table behind me, and one of the girls gives him a bunch of her carrot cake.
I try not to feed any wild animals because, like this guy, they can become dependent on humans to feed them, and can have very bad eating habits. Either way it still was neat experience.
