Souley Vegan
My brother came through town, so my pops took him and myself to get
some bbq. They got regular bbq, I got the good stuff. Bbq tofu, mac
n' cheese, red beans & rice, aaaaand, the biggest plate of fried okra
I've ever seen. It was hard to move after, and I finished maybe half
of it.

Robin and I went to the spot near the pan handle the other night.
Nothin' like a burrito with refried black beans and soyrizo from this
place. It cannot be duplicated.

Flicks
I was able to take some photos last night @ Burnt Ramen with my 35mm
since the lens on my digital was damaged. It will probably be a while
'till these are developed and they may or may not see the light of
day, or the internet at least. Hopefully they turn out, i didn't have
the right flash last night, so i just didn't use one and just made
some adjustments. We'll see.

This Is The Life
Just got this package in the mail yesterday. It's a great documentary
on southern california hip hop. It's centered around "The Good Life
Cafe," and all natural organic food spot in los angeles. This just
puts a hug smile on my face.

Los Gallos get down
Went to Los Gallos tonight with a co-worker. It's been a minute since i've been there. Picante's has been my jam as of recent (when i can afford it of course). I usually don't have any problems with this place. Tonight's only real problem was that the food took forever. I guess our receipt never came out in the kitchen, so it took a while. I forgot to specify my type of beans tonight, so i got refried, which i am a fan of. I usually try to get whole beans to be on the safe side because some places use lard in their refried beans. This place has a sign up that says they only use lard in their carnitas. The burrito was pretty good overall. I got rice, beans, tomatoes, avocado (not guacamole), and cilantro. I also got an horchata. it was pretty good, a little thin, but still good. I don't know that this place uses powdered milk in their rice drink. Since there is a bit of a language barrier with taquerias, you might take a risk with some of the food since you didn't make it yourself or see it being made. I usually like to get a juice mix here. They have a good orange/ carrot juice mix. This place has been scratched off the list as far as my co-worker and myself. Next is La Pinata just around the corner from Los Gallos. "For those of you that don't habla espanol, 'la pinata' is spanish for.... the pinata."
Eating In
Dinner @ Robin's last night. Butternut squash ravioli, some greenery on the side, and these vegan lemon chik'n strips that actually would make a good substitute for fish

Ike's before AF
Robin got the "meatless mikes" and i got the vegan "fat bastard." I had overheard talk of vegan chick'n nugs while waiting for our sandwiches. I plan on getting a sando with chik'n nugs next time. truth.
