I was incorrect
previously. Pinnacle foods (which owns gardein and earth balance) was
supposed to be purchased by Hillshire Farms, but canceled their deal,
which opened up a deal between Hillshire and Tyson.

Go Max Go Foods
This is the company that makes all the vegan snickers, twix, 3 musketeers, etc. candy bars.
Recently they made a Facebook post trying to call out Field Roast (but not Lightlife) for selling out to Maple Leaf Foods (a large meat packaging company in Canada), and Daiya for selling out to Otsuka Pharmaceuticals. When customers/ the public saw this and saw their effort put forward to calling out other companies for selling out their veganism, they simply asked, "well, what about your company and its chocolate source (see F.E.P.'s chocolate list for reference)." Go Max Go got defensive quickly.
When one person stated "You have a paragraph with literally no specifics. Compare that to your palm oil section which has two and mentions POIG and provides a link. You don't saw who certifies your cocoa as fair trade." Go Max Go's response was/ is, "Don't care."
https://www.facebook.com/gomaxgofoods/posts/1795786890491573
When asked in a separate post, if there was any update to who certifies the fair trade value of their chocolate, their response was/ is "you can read about our sourcing at our site. we don't certify the cocoa beans used in our chocolate, we don't certify any ingredient that goes into our bars, we only certify our product as vegan and most flavors as gluten free."
The store I work for (specifically the 3 of us who work there, owned by Animal Place Sanctuary, not anyone at the sanctuary) decided we weren't going to order any more of their product. Go Max Go called the store after a period of time to check in on our order and it was explained to them why we hadn't placed, and weren't going to place any orders. They proceeded to call the head of the sanctuary directly and used the fact that they donate to the sanctuary as leverage to keep their product in our store. So as of now, we have been forced by the Animal Place Sanctuary to order product from Go Max Go because Go Max Go threatened to pull their donations to the sanctuary. I have placed an informational sign with their product, so customers can make their own decision to support or not.
